Beetroot And Lesun Chutney Ghawan With Upwas Potato

Ingredients:
  • rice 3 cups
  • white lentils 1 cup
  • eating soda
  • curd
  • salt
  • oil
  • garlic chutney
  • 4 potatoes boiled
  • roasted ground nut powder 2 teaspoon
  • 3 green chilies
  • 1 beetroot boiled
  • spring onions
Procedure:
  • Soak rice and white lentils for 6 hours.  Grind it, add eating soda and keep this mixture for fermentation for 6 to 8 hours. 
  • For upwas potato grind green chilies.  In a pan heat some oil.  Add grinded green chilies, cook for a minute.  Add potatoes, salt, ground nuts powder.
  • Cook for 6 minutes keep it aside. 
  • Make beetroot pure.  Mix prepared batter, salt, curd, water.  Make thin batter but it should not be runny.   Heat some oil on a non stick pan.
  • To make ghavan spread the batter on a hot pan with the help of small bowl.   Spread beetroot pulp, garlic chutney.  Add little amount of oil at edges of the ghavan so that it will not stick.
  • Once it crisp from one side turn the other side and cook until crisp.  Now turn the ghawan again spread upwas potato and spring onions on top and cook for 1 minute.
