Methi Dal Khichdi Tadka

Ingredients:
  • Green split lentils 1/2 bowl
  • Split Pigon peas 1/2 bowl
  • Rice 1 bowl
  • Fenugreek leaves 1 bowl
  • Garlic cloves chopped 12
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 1 tomato chopped
  • 1 green chili chopped
  • Chili powder 1 teaspoon
  • Kashmiri red chili powder 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds
  • Turmeric powder
  • Asatefoeida
  • Oil
  • Salt
Procedure:
  • Heat some oil in a pot.  Add cumin seeds, once splatters, add half garlic, green chili fenugreek leaves.
  • Cook for a while.  Add  onion and cook for 2 minutes.  Add tomato, red chili powder, asafoetida, turmeric powder and Mix well.
  • Add rice, split grams and salt. 
  • Add water and cook on slow flame until grams gets completely desolved and rice gets soft.
  • For tadka heat some oil in a large spoon.  Add remaning garlic and cook until brown.  Remove the spoon from flame and add kashmiri chili powder. 
  • Mix well and give this tadka on dal khichdi.
